Description

Have a Kindle, or think you might want one? What’s all the buzz about electronic books? In this class, we will discuss all the various devices and apps you can use to read an ebook, either one you purchase, or one you check out of the library. You will learn about the different file types that each type of device or app can open, how to download books for reading on your Kindle, iPhone/iPad or Android phone/tablet, and how to check out and read books from your local library on the Libby app. In addition, we will go over some of the prominent features of ebooks such as the ability to change font size and brightness, bookmark and highlight passages, look up definitions of words in the dictionary, view Wikipedia entries, search using keywords and share what you are reading with others. You will also learn about the different websites where you can download free ebooks. Come with your devices and questions.
